When you work in a restaurant, you start to encounter some grief-provoking scenarios pretty often. It’s an incredibly social job–you never know who’s going to sit down at your table and how they’re going to treat you. So, in order to blow off some steam and commiserate with other restaurant workers, all the while gently poking fun at troublesome guests, I occasionally draw comics that take place in my imaginary restaurant, “Mild Oats.”

I’ve illustrated Mild Oats for a few years now, and I think they’re a lot of fun to share with others. And while it bears a striking resemblance to my actual place of work, the customers and employees depicted are fully fictional and intended to bring a lighthearted humor to what can be quite a stressful job.
